Email Authentication

Email authentication provides a way to prove that the email can be trusted and that it has not been forged or faked by bad actors such as spammers. By using technical email authentication standards an email provider can check that the email has not been tampered with and that it actually comes from where it says it has. Without email authentication, an email is likely to be rejected or identified as spam.

RunMy requires that any sending email address is authenticated via DKIM.  This allows RunMy to send emails on your behalf and allows email providers to verify the sender.

To authenticate requires some setup

  • add email domain to RunMy
    • by authenticating at the domain level, you will be able to use an email address that is appropriate for the communication being sent
  • configure your DNS for DKIM
    • This involves adding 3 CNAME records supplied by RunMy to your DNS.

It can take up to 72 hours for the changes to be recognised.

Once your sending status is marked as success, RunMy can start sending communications.
